In Belgium, in the city of Antwerp, a memorial to the builders has been erected near the gigantic cathedral in honor of one of the builders, Pieter Appelmans. According to legend, he was responsible for the completion of the spire, and threw himself off it when he learned that his son had divulged the secret of certain construction processes. Fortunately, this scene was not immortalized.
As the memorial is a must-see, musicians vie for the space to perform and earn a good income. Those I had the privilege of hearing and observing were talented, and clearly passionate.
